Oleg Piganovich returns to Traktor

our offer. I would like to note that throughout the decision-making process we
pursued a specific objective of strengthening the defensive line. Piganovich is
an experienced player and has tremendous leadership skills. I am sure that Oleg
will not only be as effective on the ice as he always is but also will lead his
younger partners by example. The latter will be of utmost importance in the next
season because the team is largely going to be based on young players.

Oleg Piganovich wore a black-and-white jersey for three straight seasons (from 2007 to 2010). During those three seasons Oleg played 156 matches and tallied 63 points (28 G, 35 A). Back in 2007/2008 season Piganovich broke the record of most goals among D-men that had stood for 26 years (22 goals).
Piganovich spent this past season in Donbass, posting the following stats: 52 GP, 20 points (6 G, 14 A), +5 index. Piganovich’s contract was set to expire in summer of 2015, but due to instability in Ukraine and Donbass’ subsequent indefinite sabbatical it was possible for Traktor to offer a contract to Oleg.
