Anton Glinkin: I hope one day I will be back in national team

You have been with Traktor for seven years. Do you consider yourself a veteran?
No, I don’t. I am still young, so no, I don’t think so. Everyone has had rest, we are in the working mood. The first training session is always very difficult, but that is what always happens. We have to work hard though, that is all.

Did other KHL teams try to lure you in?
There is no point talking about it since I have re-signed with Traktor. It was a priority for me, and it is with Traktor that I imagine my nearest future.

Was the team discouraged by the last season’s performance?
Yes, to some extent, especially after two successful seasons that had been before. Both we and the fans were frustrated. But it is behind us – we have to forget what happened and start working. Results should be different with a new head coach.

Last season you were regularly called up to the national team. Are you hoping Oleg Znarok will do it again this year?
Of course I am. I will be working very hard to return to the national team and to prove that it was not just a fluke. I talked with Oleg Znarok, but hockey was the only topic.
