The beginning of the game was rather auspicious for Medvedi as Kornievski scored a PP goal to pull the black-and-white ahead. This boosted team’s confidence, which resulted in many scoring chances throughout the period and a subsequent goal by Artem Melikhov not long before the horn. The goal was a masterpiece – Artem entered the attacking zone full steam ahead and hit the net with a terrific top corner shot.

The second twenty began with Mammoths exerting a lot of pressure. However, Medvedi’s goalie Yegor Nazarov fended off the assailants. The game gradually evened out, which sparked several fights throughout the period. To cool things a little, officials had to send couple of players from both sides to the bench. This pace favored Medvedi who tripled their lead – Abramov found the back of the net with a blue line snapshot.

Just like 20 minutes ago, Mammoths pressured Medvedi for a while. Within the span of three minutes Nazarov allowed two goals. Nonetheless, Medvedi quickly reestablished the goal margin at the hands of Alekseyev. Yunyshev pulled one back before the final buzzer, but that was it for this game. Four three, the final score.
