MHL. Medvedi stumble against Ladya

There were two changes in Medvedi line-up compared to the first game between the opponents – YegorNazarov returned to the nets and Ilya Zinovyev replaced Yuri Mogilnikov.

Just like last night’s game, this one began with a Ladya scoring chance when Nikita Svintsitsky hit the crossbar. The black-and-white returned the favor in the middle of the period when Maksim Shipin found himself in front ofAleksandr Brovchenko’s goal, but his shot was not accurate. Maksim Korinevskyfollowed up with a decent shot but found the iron, not the net. Anyhow, Ladya was soon able to score the opening goal of the game. Denis Guryanov appeared near the goal of Yegor Nazarov just in the nick of time, caught the rubber with his stick and score in the already empty net – 0:1. Ladya could have immediately disappointed the black-and-white for the second time, but Yegor Babenko failed to convert a penalty shot. Before the break, Belye Medvedi managed to tie the game. Artyom Melikhov scored off the rebound – 1:1.

The second period started off with several good shots on visitors’ goal that were all stopped by Ladya goaltender. Then, during Medvedi power play Denis Guryanov had a breakaway chance, but Yegor Nazarov came out on top in that particular exchange. After a while Anton Zuyev tried to turn his teammate’s assist into a goal, but hit the post. It was obvious that Ladya was not afraid to push hosts to the limit. Contrary to the complexion of the game though, four minutes before the second break Medvedi managed to take the lead at the hands of Semyon Afonasyevsky.

In the third twenty, visitors rushed forward which was quite logical. Unfortunately for Medvedi, they were able to tie the match. Medvedi immediately constructed a series of attacks that did not end in a goal only due to several selfless players of Ladya D-men. The game became really hot after the third Ladya goal that came after the mid-period mark when Yegor Babenko sent the puck right in Nazarov, the rubber treacherously slipped through the goalie’s ammunition, landed on the slot where Sergei Boldyrev gave Ladya the lead. In the remaining ten minutes Medvedi fired a litany of shots on goal, but AleksandrBrovchenko was brilliant in the nets.Artyom Sevankayev had a real possibility to tie the game but failed to convert a saucer pass. One minute before the buzzer Medvedi’s coaching staff took a time out and then pulled the goalie, but the final Medvedi onslaught did not quite begin when Ladya tailed an empty net goal. The horn signaled the end of the game. Four two, Ladya victorious.

On October 29 and 30, Belye Medvedi will face Reaktor from Nizhnekamsk on home ice.
