MHL. Belye Medvedi set the tone

Our boys started the game with receiving a minor. However, recognizing the mistake, Medvedi turned those two minutes in their favor when Artyom Melikhov, assisted by Semyon Afonasyevsky, opened the score. Nonetheless, in the opening minutes of the game Stalnye Lisy played more dynamic hockey while Medvedi mainly concentrated on counterattacks. Hosts’ diligence paid off at the end of the period when they scored two goals within the span of two minutes. Thus, our team went to the first break with the score of 1:2.

Throughout the second twenty Medvedi played more disciplined hockey, having not received any minors. Lisy, on the contrary, received two penalties, but this did not give visitors the result they sought. The game became tougher after that, but the goalkeepers played well during this period of time.

Belye Medvedi came out to the ice with a fighting spirit and began to pepper hosts’ goal with shots. During the first half of the period Ilya Samsonov was perfect, but on minute fifty Aleksei Zakarlyukin found an opportunity to tie the score at two apiece. One minute later though, Kudrin pulled Stalnye Lisy ahead again. However, two minutes before the buzzer Zakarlyukin turned the game into overtime with another accurate shot.

In the OT, Medvedi attacked a lot while the hosts failed to take a single shot. However, the winner was only determined only in the shootouts which consisted of 14 attempts. A great trick from Artyom Sevankayev gave Belye Medvedi a victory – 4:3.
