MHL. Zagidulin ‘The Wall’

The game started out in a quick pace which should not come off as surprising because it was a fourth head-to-head game for the teams during the last week and a half. Maksim Kulikov responded with a good shot to Maksim Menschikov’s scoring chance near our goal, but the score didn’t change. Overall, visitors were more active in the first period and were shooting and creating many dangerous situations near Artyom Zagidulin’s goal.

The second period started with the goal from Stalnye Lisy. Denis Sergushkin picked up the puck and beat Yegor Nazarov – 1:0. Two minutes later, Artyom Sevankayev could have scored the tying goal, but failed to convert a breakaway. A Vitali Abramov shot from the slot followed – no goal. In the middle of the game Konstantin Zabavin went to sin bin for two minutes. During this time, Vitali Kudrin hit the iron, and the score remained one zip.

Medvedi increased the pressure in the third twenty. The black-and-white played for a long time in the attacking zone, but couldn’t create something really dangerous. The hosts received their first penalty of the game ten minutes before the end of the third period. However, our team failed to take advantage of it. Moreover, five minutes before the end of the game Artur Boltanov appeared on the slot and scored the final goal of the game –2:0. Pulling the goalie did not help matters for Medvedi. Artyom Zagidulin became MVP of the game, having shut it out with 39 stops.

Belye Medvedi will play the next two games in Orenburg versus Belye Tigry on December 7 and 8.
