Konstantin Panov: our job is to play quality hockey
- I think we have managed to stick to the game plan. Allowing the first
goal is a negative trend for us, and it’s great that it was us who opened the
score tonight. As far as the tying goal is concerned, I think the refs missed
the call there. Nonetheless, we should have been more focused in this episode.
We then hung on in the OT and came away with a victory in the shootouts.
The team had a day-off before this game. Did it come in handy?
Absolutely! We had a great training session after this day off. We recovered
pretty well; it’s especially important with the playoffs rapidly approaching.
We now need to focus our attention on quicker recovery. Coaching and medical
staff do their best to ensure us, and our job is to go out there and play
quality hockey.
Was the fact that Traktor had locked a playoff spot a confidence boost?
Of course. We are very glad that we are in the playoffs, because we believe we
redeemed ourselves for the horrible season that we had in 2013-2014. We will
definitely try to advance past the first round.
