Andrei Nikolishin: we still are unable to convert scoring chances

Alexander Andrievsky, Admiral head coach:
- First off, I would like to congratulate Traktor on the victory. It was a tough matchup; both teams could have won this one in regulation. I think we played a lot better in the defensive aspect of the game. We scored only once tonight, but there were more chances to score. Of course, it’s tough to get the victory when you are able to score only one goal.

Andrei
Nikolishin, Traktor head coach:
- Thank you. I agree that it was a really tough game. Both teams are in an unfavorable position when it comes to the overall league standings, and the responsibility was weighing heavily on both Traktor and Admiral, that is way the winner had to be determined in overtime. I would like to thank my team for snapping the recent trend. Of course, there is still a wide range of problems that Traktor has to solve. One of them is converting the scoring chances that we create. However, those who should have showed their leadership skills actually did that.

Question to Nikolishin: Don’t you think Traktor took fewer shots than they should have?
Nikolishin: It’s definitely possible. We took 50 shots against Kuznya, but I don’t know how many we have taken tonight. There are no goals without shots, that is true.

Question to Andrievsky: You were dissatisfied with Traktor’s goal.
Andrievsky: I thought Traktor had six players on the ice, but there is no use arguing right now.

Question to Nikolishin: At the press conference after the previous game, you told that you have not lost control over the team, but tonight it did not seem like the case.
Nikolishin: You know, I am not the master of puppets. We are a unit, a team; I don’t know what an ideal team look like in your opinion. Nonetheless, the team won it, and even though our problems still remain, we overcame a psychological barrier.

Question to Nikolishin: If Traktor loses points against the teams that are outside the playoff zone, against which opponents to get them then?
Nikolishin: I think you don’t give enough credit to our tonight’s opponent. Look at the leaderboards; Ak Bars and Salavat Yulaev are currently outside the playoff zone. If you think that these two teams are not strong enough, then we have nothing to talk about. The trend of this season is that the general level of teams is almost the same now, with the only exception being Jokerit and CSKA.

Question to Nikolishin: Is Magnitka on the same level as Jokerit and CSKA?
Nikolishin: No. Just look at the live scores; Magnitka and Sibir are tied at two apiece. If you remember, we also went into OT with Sibir.

Question to Nikolishin: What about Avangard?
Nikolishin: Avangard has just lost to Avtomobilist in overtime. I think you get the point.
