- A good matchup played a good pace. Both teams had plenty of scoring chances. We wanted to start the new year with a win, and I am glad we did. Happy New Year everyone!

Meszaros will be back very soon. He should soon be cleared by the doctors. His injury is not that serious, but it stops him from appearing on the ice.

Why is Okulov absent? He was replaced by Voroshilo, a more creative and dynamic player who is good in shorthanded play. For now, Okulov is now on the bench, but we will see how it is going to pan out going forward.

Anvar Gatiyatulin, interim Traktor head coach:

- Every game is like the last one for us. We are desperately trying to turn things around for us. However, unnecessary penalties completely ruin hockey games for us. We need to make the players understand that thes penalties drain them out.

Zinovyev looked pretty good for his first KHL game. As far as other young players are concerned, they are involved in training sessions, and those who impress us will get their chance to play on the main roster.

I do watch the U20 World Championship, and it is not only because of Nikita Zhuldikov. I worked with this team in the past, and I wish nothing but success to all of them.
