Severstal vs. Traktor, 2:7. Postgame press conference
Here’s what Traktor head coach Anvar Gatiyatulin had to say after team’s scintillating win over Severstal (7:2).
- We had a rough start –
Severstal locked us in our own zone, but we withstood the pressure and evened
the game out. We converted almost all of our scoring chances to get a victory tonight.
Of course, some mistakes were made, and we have to correct them.
We always try to find ways to involve
young players with the main team. If someone from Belye Medvedi or Chelmet is
ready, we will definitely bring them up to play for Traktor.
Here are the highlights of
what Severstal head coach Alexander Gulyavtsev said during the post-game press conference.
- The only good thing about
the match was the first half of the opening period. As soon as we started
trailing, we scrambled to try and tie up the game, but it resulted in this
blowout defeat. Our opponent did not squander their scoring chances while we
were in a hurry to get that goal or those goals back. Maybe our winning game
against Magnitka also had something to do with this loss as tonight my team was
an emotional vacuum.
I can’t say Kovar was bad
tonight – he was left for dead out there. I wouldn’t put blame solely on Kovar,
because he saved us on several exchanges.
We are expecting another
foreign player to come over soon.
