Anvar Gatiyatulin: one scoring chance gave us victory
Anvar Gatiyatulin, Traktor head coach:
It’s always tough to play against Avtomobilist,
and this game was no exception. We had a decent first period, but the penalties
derailed us in the second. However, my players managed to keep it together, and
the scoring chance in the OT gave us a win.
Andrey Razin, Avtomobilist head coach:
Tonight’s loss is a bitter pill to swallow. We moved well, despite having
less time to recuperate than Traktor. Unfortunately, recuperative abilities do
not win games – goals do, and tonight we scored one goal less than Traktor.
Question to Razin: How do you plan on fighting against penalties for too
many men on ice?
Razin: Yeah, we already garnered four these penalties during the
season. Well, I’m afraid it’s impossible to avoid them.
Question to Razin: Tonight’s OT was three on three. Did your team prepare
for this kind of situation?
Razin: Yes, we did, although I don’t think it’s that important to be
able to play in this format.
