Anvar Gatiyatulin: power play was the name of the game tonight
Anvar Gatiyatulin, Traktor head coach:
Power play was the name of the game tonight. Dynamo scored three power play
goals, and we tried our best to get from behind in the second period. We pulled
one back in the second period, but the opposition quickly reestablished the
three goal margin. We have to analyze the mistakes we made in tonight’s game in
order to not repeat them in the games to come.
Of course, the
coaching staff is also responsible for this defeat. Pavel Francouz flew in
during the night, and we decided to place Demchenko in the net. Vasya is not to
blame though; the skaters had wrong positions on the ice during shorthanded
play. We so expect Alexei Kruchinin back; we really need him on the roster. He might
play against Lokomotiv. Koltsov had to play tonight, because our roster is kind
of thin.
Sergei Oreshkin, Dynamo head coach:
I want to congratulate the team and the fans on tonight’s win. I agree – the first
period decided the result of this game. We looked really good on the power play
and converted the scoring chances. The second period was not that good – we had
a lot of turnovers, but still scraped up a couple of goals and came away with a
win.
