Peteris Skudra on the coming game against Metallurg: We play for victory

After 2-1 win over Severstal head coach of Traktor talked to journalits, as well as Alexander Podkorytov, young forward of the organisation, discussed his goal and the game.

What impressions do you have and what changed in comparison to the yesterday game?

It was a good game. There were a lot of penalties but we played much better in the special teams. The quality of the game, playmaking decisions were better. We try to use passes, we aren`t going to simlify the game. Though many passing moves aren`t good yet, the ice in the evenin games isn`t perfect, the puck jumps. Anyway, we have improve the passing quality. 

The imports didn`t play yesterday and played today. What can you say about them?

Guys worked well. Sedlak and Hyka played a lot in the special team. We looked at them in this situation, they are great. On the powerplay they probably didn`t do what they wanted to and what we wanted, but it`s just a situation. Severstal played not badly. They moved well and had good moments. 

Peteris, the game for the first place will be so called Ural Rivalry. What does it mean for you, is it some sort of additional motivation?

We would like to win the home tournament, it`s not a secret to hide, yet it`s a preseason tournament. Today we fought, guys blocked the shots. We improve right skills that will be useful in the season. Of course, we will play to win. The Magnitogorsk team looks powerful but we will get ready and play for the victory.

Are you satisfied with Podkorytov`s play?

Yes, he played better. Though he played just a half of the game, it was much better than yesterday.

What are your thoughts on the game?

The game was quite good, both teams played well. We did well in the ending thanks to the goalie. In general, coaches complimented the game. Some things still aren`t done the way they are supposed to but we do our best to fix it.

You didn`t play a half of the game, how did you managed to catch the rhythm?

It was okay, I warmed up during the breaks. The coach told me to be ready for the special team play and I didn`t miss my chance.

Did coaches say something about yesterday game results?

Yes, they did. Today we watched the video, they explained everything to us. We managed to do some things today. We will keep working.
