2012/2013 Playoffs. Match #5, Traktor vs. Barys – 6:3. Press-conference after the match
Vladimir Krikunov, Barys’ head coach:
Judging by the performance in this game, some of my players are already thinking about the vacations. I think it was the first time when my team gave up a playoff game so easily. I’ve got nothing else to say.
Valery Belousov, Traktor’s head coach:
Great first two periods for us. I told my boys before the third to stay focused; Barys showed great resiliency throughout the regular season when in a tough spot like this. My players managed to stay focused and not to get too many penalties. Third goal we allowed was unnecessary, but it happens.
Question to Krikunov: Why did you choose Poluektov over Yeremeyev?
Krikunov: Yeremeyev is injured.
Question to Belousov: How did you manage to reach out to the first line?
Belousov: Their goals were long overdue. I talked to them earlier, and we discussed the strategy for the power play. As you can see, it worked!
