Yevgeny Kuznetsov: our victory is for Chelyabinsk and its people
Congratulations, Yevgeny! What was the key to success against Ak Bars?
Thank you! I don’t know what the key was; maybe motivation, because Ak Bars is our strongest opponent on the East. I wanted to thank Kazan team for this series; it is always a pleasure to play against a team like this.
Was Traktor more ready psychologically? You had to play three matches on the edge, while game 7 was the only one like this for Ak Bars.
No, I don’t think it’s a question of psychology. Ak Bars has so many world champions on their roster, they are an experienced team. I think we just were a little bit luckier.
Did the support of Traktor fans that were at Tatneft Arena help you?
Of course! This victory is for Chelyabinsk and its amazing people. We wanted to make them happy, and I think we did just that. And by the way, congratulations to my beloved wife on her birthday!
