Gagarin Cup Finals, game 1. Dynamo vs. Traktor – 2:1. Press-conference after the match
Valery Belousov, Traktor’s head
coach:
I would like to congratulate Dynamo on tonight’s
victory. We allowed an uncharacteristic goal while having one-man advantage.
Second Dynamo’s goal was due to our mistake again. We were focused in the
third, but could not cut the two-goal deficit.
When you are in the finals, you don’t need to count who played more and who
played less – you just need to go out there and show all that you’ve got. With that
said, we had a great third period tonight.
We will let Nichushkin go to the national team. He will play three more games
and then leave. We have no right to ban him from coming to help the national team.
Oleg Znarok, Dynamo’s head coach:
A
tough game tonight. Congratulations to my team. Of course we will have a team
meeting where we will analyze our mistakes. There are always mistakes involved
in any sport; we will try to eliminate them. As far as the battle of two
Chelyabinsk coaches goes, I can say that Chelyabinsk is my home town, but in
all fairness I can’t call Traktor my home team.
