Torpedo vs. Traktor 3:4. Press-conference after the match
Valery Belousov, Traktor head coach:
- After two defeats I wanted my boys to pay special attention to their own net.
I think we did good in this regard. The only fly in the ointment was that we
believed in our victory too soon, but at the end of the day we were able to
retain the victory, and I am glad we did.
Peteris Skudra, Torpedo head coach:
- We knew Traktor had lost two games before, so we knew we were in for a tough
one. We had a good start and opened the score. Then, however, penalties ensued,
and all went awry. Unfortunately, we are staring to have the players who bring
the team down. We will try to struggle against it. One more thing - forwards
should be more confident when it comes to utilizing scoring chances. Plus, you can't
win matches when your opponent takes 14 shots and scores four times.
Question to Skudra: When are you going
to take appropriate measures against those that bring the team down?
Skudra: The sooner, the better. I
am pretty sure that the whole team is not supposed to suffer from poor
performance of a handful of players.
Question to Skudra: Do you see poor
power play as a problem?
Skudra: We have been working on
this aspect. Today we had underwhelming power play, but we keep trying to do
our best during PP. We have the right people to get the job done in this
respect.
