Traktor Arena will be named after Valeri Belousov
The official announcement regarding the decision was made today, on June 4, after the meeting. We would like to remind you that it was Chelyabinsk Oblast Governor, Boris Dubrovski, who pitched the idea of naming Traktor Arena after Valeri Belousov.
‘Valeri Belousov personifies Chelyabinsk hockey. We remember the great results achieved by the teams led by him; we greatly appreciate his determination, professionalism and human qualities. His name will forever be in the hearts of Chelyabinsk hockey fans. I believe that naming Traktor Arena after Valeri Konstantinovich will cement his legacy’, said Dubrovski.
Ministry’s press office underlines that today’s meeting of the council began with Minister Leonid Oder discussing Governor’s suggestion. He said, ‘In 2015, we lost a great coach and a great man, Valeri Belousov. It is he whom the greatest accomplishments of Traktor are linked with. For the past two months, there have been quite a few requests from the fans to immortalize Valeri Konstantinovich’s name. In particular, Governor Dubrovski suggested naming the Traktor Arena after him’.
‘It was under his tutelage that I achieved the greatest things in my career. I believe this decision is great; it’s a tribute to our great coach’, said Sergei Gomolyako, First Vice President of Traktor.
‘I am sure that this initiative is supported by all Traktor fans, bar none. I would also like to add that a memorial plate in remembrance of Valeri Belousov will be installed inside the arena’, said team’s executive director Denis Telikh.
